This year I have been working a lot on the CIHI brand and one of my favorite parts of the process has been falling in love all over again with the portraits I most enjoy making.
As a performer, I've grown up understanding the importance of a strong headshot-- one that tells a story, captures beauty in an undeniable way, and encompasses the individuals many talents and capabilities. There's just something about working with creatives that I'm continuing to realize is the heart and soul of what I love to do.
An important voice and vision in the business journey I've been on is Mrs. Ashlee Proffitt. She's a dear friend, mentor, business guru and I'm really thankful for her heart and her talents that she shares with the world everyday in a zillion different ways. She's also a branding genius and as such, her business (Ashlee Proffitt Designs) is one that serves as constant inspiration for many, including me.
Creating portraits to go along with her brand was an exciting challenge. She wanted a natural light space and had planned a flawless all-white outfit for her main look. We ended up shooting on a Saturday morning in Downtown Tampa and the white wall I hunted down served as a perfect backdrop for part of her set-- they almost look like we were in a studio which is a really different yet beautiful look! Her second and third looks were a bit more casual and were put together by her fabulous stylist (and another wonderfully talented friend) Meghan. I loved them all (fashion meets the most genuine heart + talent meets headshots? Gah!).
I love you, friend. Thanks for sharing your vision with me and for trusting me to make these images!
in His love,
P.S. Ashlee, Meghan and I have a fun new project that we'll be collaborating on this summer-- stay tuned!
