Heather and Martez were my first wedding of 2015 and my excitement for their day only grew after J and I met them in the fall for their Downtown St. Pete Engagement Session. Their love began when they were just teenagers and so many friends and family members were waiting for them to finally say "I do"! As such, their wedding day was a b-last and Heather was SO calm! A few of my favorite pieces of their day....
1.) They had a Valentines Day Wedding because Heather actually really dislikes that holiday and wanted a reason to celebrate it in the future! So cute!
2.) They waited to see each other until Heather walked down the aisle and you could tell how excited they were to be hand in hand when they took their vows.
They also laughed really hard when the pastor nearly married them by calling Martez by his brother's name instead of his own.
3.) While we were taking their bridal party portraits in a local park, a woman with a horse walked out of the woods and immediately offered to let Heather sit on him. It was a beautiful moment and we couldn't believe it when she commanded the horse to smile and he did! Just like Mr. Ed!
4.) Rather than wedding cake, these two went with custom cheesecakes by Lemon Drops Weddings & Events. Their wedding was during Florida's strawberry season and you could smell these desserts all the way on the dance floor!
5.) At the end of the night when my second shooter Brittany and I took Heather and Martez outside for a few nighttime portraits, they couldn't stop smiling. They were so enjoying the chance to be with family and friends and truly had loved every minute of their day. That's the best way to end your wedding day, I think!
Special thanks to Hotel Indigo in Downtown St. Pete and Banquet Master's Clearwater for providing the backdrop spaces of the day and to Makeup by Emily Ann for doing an always fabulous job with all of the girls.
Stay tuned for an absolutely epic set of images that we made in the ocean for Heather & Martez' "trash the dress" session. Love you both!
