Writing this blog post is like being asked to toast at the celebration of a dear friend. I get nervous, teary-eyed and overwhelmed by memories.
To say I am thankful for Emma is an u n d e r s t a t e m e n t.
Emma is a dear friend who also happens to be a photographer, lover of Jesus, wife and artist. I have learned so much from our friendship and have missed her friendship and partnership since leaving Kansas.
Thankfully, I trip back in October gave us the opportunity to catch-up and shoot. She's simply beautiful in front of the camera and making new headshots for her was an honor.
Though it is always nerve wracking to have a fellow artist step in front of my lens, it is also always a blast because photographers are notoriously photogenic. I don't know if we're all born that way or if we learn it by trade, but Emma was definitely a natural and capturing her beauty, spirit, heart and talented soul was an exhilarating challenge.
Oh, and did I mention that we are incredibly awkward and nerdy together so any semblance of beauty in these images is seriously a reflection of grace. If pictures could talk you'd hear snorting pig laughs, see awkward arm movements, the whole shebang.
In a few short weeks Emma and her love, Jeff, will be re-locating their nest egg to Alaska. Serving our country proudly, these two are setting off on a new adventure and I couldn't be more excited for them. Though it's hard to imagine her so far away, I know that the Lord has amazing things in store for them and I hope these images will be a small piece of her business' launch.
Alaska, prepare yourselves. You're getting a g o o d one.
I love you dearly and hope this lil' blog serves as a fun, long-distance, mini-finale to your 25th birthday festivities! I am praying for you, Jeff and Rose Wheat Photography as you take this next leap. I know you will write a beautiful chapter!
in His love,
