I'm following-up on Shay & Ashlee's collaboration launch with a quick peek of the branding portraits we made for Shay the same night!
Shay already has a set of gorgeous portraits she is able to use for her many different speaking engagements, blog features etc. but she felt like she needed a set that were slightly less curated that would still match her brand, and the original set of portraits.
I love what Megan Michele Styling came up with to achieve this look, incorporating black and white (Shay's go-to colors) in a very feminine way. We also marveled a bit at the fact that the look combined with the location we shot at gave off a bit of a Parisian feel-- a city that Shay visited this year with her husband for their 10 year anniversary and provided inspiration she brought home with her. You can see more behind-the-scenes with Megan at the end of this post.
Shay did not work with a professional makeup artist for this session (a recommendation I usually make for my branding/headshot clients) but she looked fabulous and I love the bold lip color she incorporated. The strong color of the lipstick tapered with the soft pink of the building behind her softened up the black and white attire and Shay's fierce (she's just gorgeous) appearance.
I love watching Megan work, especially with Ashlee and Shay. She kept an eye on everything from fly-aways to keeping the crossover fabric of Shay's top perfectly aligned. Also? Shay is a real life barbie. That's really all there is to it.
