St. Louis Missouri Senior Portraits (9 of 16)

When I started advertising my availability for the June road trip sessions, I prayed... hard. My mind was full of questions and insecurities--What if no one books me?  How will people in these cities even hear about me?  Why would anyone be interested in booking a session with me when they have a million other photographers to pick from?

The list went on and on. But, as usual, God superseded and made His presence known:

Hey, Lo. I'm the one who laid this business on your heart, remember? Let me take care of it.

So, you can imagine my amazement when I got a call from Jordan's aunt offering to drive 14 hours round trip if we could coordinate a St. Louis senior session for her daughter, Madison.

I'd only met Madison once before and was both thrilled and flattered when she and Lori contacted me. Senior portraits are a big deal and to drive 14 hours for them.... well.... the final product better justify the drive!

We ended up having her session in Downtown Edwardsville {like Allyson & Kyle's!}, a completely foreign area for both Maddi and Lori. I had a lot of fun spaces in mind including this super-fun blue storage shed that my cousin showed me the day before! I'm such a sucker for colored walls//doors//buildings...

Maddi is so sweet and so down to earth. Before her session she let me fuss with clothes and jewelry and even let me do her hair and makeup! For a girl who is in shorts and a t-shirt most days, she did great, even as cars passing by honked ;-)

After a big move from Missouri to Mississippi last year, Maddi has shown tremendous grace and poise transitioning to her new high school. She's an excellent student and volleyball player and is on the hunt for her perfect college! I'm sure her senior year will be great.

Maddi, I hope you love your images! You are an amazing girl and I'm really glad we got the chance to hang out during our trip :) I know you will do great things this year! Blessings!

in His love,

Laura
