Oh friends, just when I thought my couples couldn't get any sweeter, Kayla and Joey came along!
These two traveled to Tampa from Sebring, Florida for their fall engagement session and we had the best time getting to know each other while exploring a few of my favorite local parks. They've been long distance for a bit and you can tell when you're around them that they truly soak in every minute.
Fast forward to December 12th when their love for one another and their friends + family showed up ten fold for their wedding! In many ways J and I felt like we were back in Kansas-- the dusty dirt roads, small town hair salon, and old brick buildings just are not things we're used to in Florida. It was sweet and nostalgic and made the day even more special.
Kayla is a photographer and she hand picked Highland Hammock State Park for their wedding ceremony location. The park hadn't ever hosted a wedding before but my, was it gorgeous! The sky was so blue and the space surrounded by trees and open fields-- truly amazing and one of the gifts of getting married during Florida's winter.
Besides the sweet, small town spaces that stole my heart, I also loved our time with Kayla, Joey and their big ol' bridal party on the prettiest road in Highlands County. I swear their laughter could be heard for miles-- this group of friends really did surround them in the most amazing of ways! Also, Kayla's flower crown and Joey's quiet disposition made their first look so magical.... and tear-filled. It was just a great day!
Special thanks to Caroline Maxcy for epitomizing #communityovercompetition on this day! Caroline & her hubby provided videography services and it was so much fun to shoot alongside them!!
Kayla + Joey,
We love you guys so much!!!
