As I sit snuggled up on the the couch, hiding my noon pjs under a snuggly microplush blanket, I’m truly overcome by all the blessings the last year has provided. To think that a year ago we were still living apart, praying for a home and jobs to provide themselves, is truly humbling. My eyes also well up with tears thinking about my nearly collapsed photography business, that would file financial loss just a few months later, that has been rejuvenated in the most incredible of ways.
Were spending this year’s Thanksgiving in Norh Carolina, my in-laws new home. They moved into their house on Friday and welcomed their kids just days later. Today, for us, is not about table decorations or perfectly crafted pie crusts. Instead, we’re taking the day slow and in a few hours, will settle around a table and enjoy a relatively simple (but delicious) meal. Movies and laughter will follow as the wine flows freely. This year is about being together and I’m realizing quickly that it’s exactly what I’ve been needing.
(Our breakfast today…… the cheesy grits were ah-mazing)
I hope you gather w e l l today. Gathering is a lost art and I know that I’m tremendously thankful for a day that requires it.
Much love to you and yours! Thank you for supporting, encouraging, and blessing me this year.
