It’s been my experience that this life has no limit of amazing people to know, meet and spend time with. I’m learning, however, that it’s rare for these individuals to cross the boundaries of work, home, values, and beliefs. It is for this reason that I count Katherine as one who is near and dear in this Tampa land we are learning to build community with.
Katherine is strong in all senses of the word and equally as compassionate. She is my neighbor, colleague, classmate and friend and it was such a privilege to make headshots for her a few weeks ago. She will soon be authoring a blog about her love of travel, literature and adventures and I’m hoping these images help her tell the story of her to go alongside the stories she will write.
The shaded walkways and white stone benches scattered around the University of South Florida campus served as the perfect backdrop for this session. While I like to shoot at locations that are impeccably beautiful, I also strive for them to be generic as to not distract from the subject. I know that this evening delivered both and Katherine, a Tampa native and USF grad (nearly) twice over oozed with confidence and comfortability– the best traits ever to photograph.
Katherine Cain (do I sound like your mom? I’m not sure if she calls you this but I just love your middle name!)
You, my friend, are beautiful inside and out. Channel the bravery and courage your have found through your many life adventures and experiences into your writing– it will require it– and I know amazing things will come. I cannot wait to follow along as a reader and cheerleader. You are so very talented and a gift to many!
