The serendipitous connections that bring my clients and I together are one of the most special parts of this work. Carolyn & Dylan were introduced to me by their planning team, only to discover that we live just 20 minutes apart in the same city! I loved sharing both of my worlds; the midwest and FL with them as we traversed their engagement and wedding seasons. From their engagement session in downtown Kansas City on a beautiful spring morning, to their wedding day on Boca Grande a year later, these two became family. Highlights of the day included Carolyn’s parents surprising them with a stunning baby’s breath wreath above their dance floor, and their 2nd line parade from their ceremony to cocktail hour! They also stayed on the dance floor all night and the images are some of our favorites.
Oh my lord, there are not enough characters allowed for me to express how Dylan and I truly feel about Laura Foote. I’ll start at the beginning; from a consultation just a few weeks after getting engaged, not knowing how our wedding was going to exactly be, one thing I knew was that Laura would be there to capture it. One of the first things she said to me was, “I will be there to capture the love you and Dylan have for each other, not to order everyone around”. Laura did just that. Our first time meeting in person was our engagement shoot and I felt like we were good friends who hadn’t seen each other in a decade!
It was Dylan and I’s first professional shoot as a couple and she made us both feel so comfortable and easy. After it was over, Dylan and I sat in our car and said, “Okay, she’s incredible”. Once we received the photos, we couldn’t wait to see what she would do for us on our wedding day. Laura kept in touch with me up until the big day, which made me feel so special. She wasn’t just there to take our wedding photos, she was going to be there because she truly cared about Dylan and I.
