Sonia & LJ’s Downtown Tampa Anniversary session was the perfect way to welcome fall and the start of the holiday season! Next week they will officially celebrate one year of marriage and I’m so honored they asked me back in July to document these photos. The weather was perfectly fall (a gift here in Florida!) and I loved how […]
My friend, stylist, wedding planner/florist extraordinaire Amber is friends with Caroline (the new bride to be!) and her bestie Katie, and graciously shared my information with Katie & the friends helping execute the proposal! Rose petals perfectly placed, tropical storm clouds of the way, I hid in my post anxiously waiting (for this couple I’d never met!!), and Julius wasted no time. The ring was out of his pocket before he could get down on one knee and Caroline’s face… priceless! Clearly she went to Cloud 9 immediately and stayed there all night.
Ryan & Sarah dated from their sophomore year of high school until their sophomore year of college, having little idea that life wouldn’t let them be apart for long. Between PhD programs, jobs, and moves, these two have been best friends for over a decade and now, are FINALLY (ha!) getting married!
Growing up in Kansas City our closest family was a few hours away in St. Louis. But now, Ryan & Sarah call Kansas City home! So while their wedding will be in their home of St. Louis, it was so fun (and kind of surreal!) to run around downtown Kansas City with them for their engagement session.
Graham and Shay are dear friends and I’m so grateful Tampa brought us together. Shay runs The SC Stockshop and Graham runs The Recording Revolution, but I know they would tell you that their businesses are small priorities in the light of their marriage, ministry, and family. When Shay reached out to me about documenting a […]
Ashley and Alex stole my heart last spring when I was introduced to them by my girls at Laurel Avenue. Their young, but mature beyond their years love, fervor for the Lord, and sweet, southern souls had me like “let’s be best friends… yesterday!”. I am so thankful that they trusted me for both a destination engagement session in Savannah, Georgia, and their wedding in Millen, Georgia!
While we didn’t know each other there, it was so fun to receive an email from her this summer after Cortez surprised her on their old high school football field with a proposal! Yep, these two are high school sweethearts (just like J and I!) and have managed to grow up, handle long distance during college and now working/wedding planning life!
This summer our SKYPE consultation felt like hanging out with old friends. We laughed about awkward high school pictures, they met K (who says their relationship is “goals”- ha!), and I had J hop on the call when I found out that Cortez is a Pokemon Go master (seriously, if only we could be as good as him!). They are just those kind of people that you want to spend time with! So, you can imagine how much fun we had during their engagement session in Manhattan when I was back in Kansas last week.
They started with their Junction City High School letterman jackets (I can’t) and then changed while we ventured from Annenberg Park to Poyntz Avenue. Lizzi’s sweet momma came along, Cortez endured the outfits Lizzi had picked for him, and it was just the best. Oh, and I can’t forget to mention Lizzi’s ring! I’ve never had a bride wear a 5 generation diamond but that’s how old Lizzi’s is! And the neatest part? Every woman in the family has had it removed from their band to give to the next couple when the time comes. So, her mom is currently wearing a glass diamond in her setting because she had it pulled this summer for Cortez to make Lizzi’s ring! So amazing!
